Michaela Hummer- Blog Week 1

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

I found this site through the Fairmont Hotel Website. This blog is slightly different than most because it allows members from the Fairmont hotels to post their experiences and their tips. It is a place where people who stayed in a Fairmont hotel can post pictures and talk about their vacation. There are photos, videos, weddings and hotel facts all to read. I chose this blog because it is from a hotel company that I have had good experiences with. My family and I love the Fairmont in Bermuda and have stayed there many times, and every time it is exceptional service without a doubt. I truly enjoy seeing the photos of families smiling and laughing on their vacation. This blog is clearly geared towards families and other travelers, for them to post and learn about the various Fairmont hotels. They certainly reached their goal in reaching families and customers for this blog. They also have pages on Facebook and twitter. Yet, these are a bit different. Of course people could post on Facebook or tweet, but the blog is different because members can share with other members of the Fairmont hotels, and it is more intimate than on Facebook or other social networking.

Renaissance Hotels Blog

I found the Renaissance blog, and I found it to be a very intriguing blog. The way the blog was set up and designed instantly caught my attention. It made me curios, and it made me think that this was what the hotels must look like. Classy, and elegant. This blog not only has style but it has many things to read as well. There are sections on new things happening, the dining, the special events, and the special stories. This blog is geared towards any customers who are interested in exploring the Renaissance hotels. I believe that it reaches it's goal towards pulling you in and getting you excited to explore a hotel or look to stay in a certain city. It allows you to dive in and learn all about the hotels. Of course, this blog has links to Facebook and twitter, but the blog has so much more information that would be helpful to each person that would not be on these social networking sites. The authors seeming to write the posts have real knowledge in the Renaissance hotels and they seem to be aware of all the new things going on and each guest that visits.
