Emily Wadman - Week 1

Hyatt hotels

I chose to follow the Hyatt hotel blog because I have stayed at their hotels numerous times before. I really enjoyed my stay there as well. The Hyatt is a very well known name, and I would be interested in maybe doing business with them in the future. This blog also didn’t just talk about one specific branch, but the whole company. It discusses lodging, events, food, and improvements that are being made to the company. The blog posts almost daily and lets the customers, and future customers view what is going on in the hotel. I feel that this blog can tell perspective customers about the hotel company itself a lot more than a website because the blog is updated so frequently. The blogger does not have a link to Facebook, but it would help if they did because it would just be more social networking, that could get the hotels name out by word of mouth. They do however have a Twitter link. This will help in the sense that the hotels name can be spread around by word of mouth bringing in more interested guests.

I chose to follow the Grand Hotel in Salem, because of its proximal distance to Endicott. I have never been to the hotel, but after looking through the blog, I would most definitely stay there. The blog is really functional in a sense that it is easy to navigate. The information posted is all relative to Salem, and the hotel. There are lists of activities and dates going on in the area, as well as links to look at the hotel itself.  I was really impressed with how accommodating the blog was to perspective customers, informing them of activities and attractions. The blog has both a Twitter and Facebook link, which would help as well with getting their name out in a more popular and easily accessible way. The author seems to know a lot about the surrounding area, and the hotel in general.
