Week 3- Alex Tonsberg

This certain blog conveys the archives to the audience by explaining the origins of the coconut tossing game. I the blog is intended towards vacationers who want to have a fun time in the sand, and at the beach. Mostly this is targeted towards families with children. I think Four Seasons does a good job selling off the fun, entertaining feel to this tropical game. They also mention that the Four Seasons hotel will have their very own staff help out to teach the customers the ancient game. The archives that the blog conveys is that the people who stay at the Four Seasons will definitely have their hands full with fun and will be proactive on their vacation in Thailand. I believe that they are on Facebook and Twitter. The author claims the knowledge of the coconut game, the origins of where it was first invented. It was originated in Marseilles, France in the early 1900’s.

http://family.fourseasons.com/2012/09/parents-insider-guide-to-family-travel-four-seasons-tokyo-at-marunouchi/

In this blog, the author takes us to the Four Seasons Marunouchi Hotel, in Tokyo, Japan. This hotel is one of the best hotels in Tokyo. This blog conveys the archives to the audience by explaining what exactly the hotel wants the customers to enjoy. There are tons of activities for families to stay proactive. This blog serves to show that the Four Seasons hotel in Japan is one of the most exciting hotels on the planet. With a Disney World 20 minutes away from the hotel, huge shopping malls under neither the hotel and alongside it. The very best service a customer can get with escorts at every corner. This blog definitely meets its goals. The image the blog is trying to convey is that the “location, location, location” is one of the most important goals to the hotel for the customers. I believe they are one Facebook and Twitter. This blog is different because it is in a different location this time, instead of a tropical area; it is in huge urban city. The author claims to know tons of activities that families who stay at the hotel can enjoy around Tokyo.

Week 3- victoria mccart

http://blog.salvatores.net/

The title of this post is "3 is a Lucky Number at Salvatore's!" In this post the author talks about a 3 for 33 dollars deal. this is advertising the restaurants in order to bring in some new customers. it is beneficial because eaters usually go when there are good deals going on and inexpensive food paired with good selections of salads, entrees, and desserts. it is spectacular because it is such low prices and good food with Fine Dining. I do not see any comments on this blog.

http://panerablog.blogspot.com/

The title of this blog is "Why is there no one here?" The only topic of this short Blog is about how it is a saturday night at 5:30 and she is the only person at Panera eating. This post relates to the industry because you can never know how much business you might get on certain nights. it is strange because you would expect more business on weekends rather than during the week but there is no one here on this particular day. There are no comments on this blog for the day.

Week 3 - Siena Tansey

http://blog.italytraveller.com

http://www.hotelchatter.com

Throughout the past week, hotel chatter has made over 80 new posts. They focus on topics ranging from learning vacations to gay hotels to celebrity gossip. The authors provide such a wide range of topics so they can cater to as large of an audience as possible. One post "HGTV Design Star Revs Up Pasadena Quality Inn"talked about radical design changes in one hotel. They said they were not sure if this would cause a brand-wide upgrade but they thought it a strong possibility. One reader shared his opinion that it would not be a brand-wide change.

Week 3-Jordan Amirault

San Juan Water and Beach Club Hotel Blogs

This week there were posts about the hotels new restaurant called Zest. The restaurant continues to keep the vibe of the hotel incorporating white tongue chairs, soothing blue lights, and wave-like lighting effects. Lounge music is provided for customers and the cuisine carries some kind of contemparary, creative twist. The restaurants location makes it convenient for business and leisure travelers. Bloggers have posted comments on their experiences at Zest. Some bloggers reported that the meals were delicious and the drinks were tasty and creative. They also enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant and how it included many similarities to the hotels hip, contemparary style.

Fairmont Monte Carlo Blogs

This week there were post about the Fairmont Monte Carlo hosting a gala dinner to celebrate the “Little Chefs by the Fairmont Monte-Carlo.” Chef Joannès had the opportunity to visit his his kitchens that students where using to take part  in the third series of the "Master chef" program. The teams were divivded into two and each of the contestants participating in the contest had the oppurtunity to meet chef Philippe Joannès. The teams were responsible for recreating one of Chef Joannès main courses. They were then judged by a jury of chefs. No comments have been made, thus far, on how the program went.

Week 3- Kaeleigh Cranney

This week in the Carlton Hotel Groups they hosted the Rose of Tralee an event they host every year. They kicked off the weekend with the Rose Ball in an their event space called the Dome, the blogger said the entertainment was brilliant and the event gets better and better every year. The event was held at the hotel the next day, to crown one of the contestants, almost like a beauty pageant. It was a busy weekend at the hotel to say the least, with all the festivities.

This week at the Hawthorne Hotel they had an employee open house, which I found interesting. Management wanted to touch base with the employees of all the changes that have happened to the hotel over the past year. They also had guest tours for employees of newly renovated rooms especially for some employees that never make it up to the guest rooms. I think this was good for the management to connect with employees and keep in touch with them so everyone is on the same page.

Matt Coronite-Week 3

http://bostonrestaurants.blogspot.com/

This week the author once again talks about new restaurants coming to the Boston area.  This is related to the hospitality industry because they are restaurants which are encompassed in hospitality.  Not many readers post comments but when they do it is usually asking where the author got their information or adding more thoughts to the topic.

http://lasvegasblog.harrahs.com/

This week the author talks about new menu items coming to a restaurant at Flamingo, mentions a show at Bally's, and announces the opening of a Neon Museum.  Some of these posts are not related to hospitality but the majority of them are since they are related to the hotels.  No readers mace any comments this week except one person who questioned how Bally's will charge admission for a show that is visible 10 feet away.

Lindsey Sneider Week 3

The post I read this week was more of an announcement and advertisement.  The Black Tie Company blogged about how they were asked to manage events at Pineland Farms in Maine. This summer I worked at a wedding at the Pineland Farms and it was very beautiful there. They described how they were beginning to get their foot in the door and planning their first wedding event there as the caterers. They put a slight advertisement at the end saying, “Come see the views that few can see, and plan your next event at this pastoral and peaceful venue. We will work with you and create an event to remember, at a site that will be impossible to forget.” This is meant to target people in the market for a venue for their events to be catered.

The post I read this week on The DoubleTree by Hilton blog was announcing the signing of the new DoubleTree by Hilton in Cape Town, South Africa. This is the fifth Hilton Worldwide property to be launched in South Africa. This is a 183-room hotel in a metropolis area at the southern tip of Africa. This area is known to be one of the most popular tourist destinations. This is a good area as there are many tourist attractions such as wine-making and festivals. “Today's signing represents Hilton Worldwide's 20th pipeline property in Africa and contributes perfectly to our multi-brand growth strategy dedicated to providing our guests with a range of choices in the most important cities in Africa." The Hilton name is growing rapidly and doesn’t seem to be stopping. The amenities within the hotel include a fitness center, eight meeting rooms, a 300-person capacity event room, a business center, a bar, restaurant and a coffee shop.

Allison Campbell- Week 3

Allison Campbell Week 3 Blog post

http://www.embassysuitesconcord.com/e-blog/

This week the employee is the catering manager. The blog talks about her background, how she got started, and what college she attended. It also discusses her roles as the catering manager. The post explains that she is the caterer for weddings and social events.

http://www.boston.com/travel/explorene/blogs/packup/

During week three of this blog there have been three new posts. The first is about a ranch in Virginia that is now opening up kids spa services! The next new post is about the top U.S cities where hotel, air and car rental rates have dropped. This could be extremely helpful for a person that is planning a trip and needs a form of transportation to get there or to get around while at their destination. The next post is about New York City's annual "Hotel Week." This is an event where the rooms rates start at $100. This is in January, with the goal of getting more guests in a slow season in mind. Any of these blog posts would be very helpful to a frequent traveler of any sort.

Week Three - David Aranjo

Luxury Accommodations:

On the Luxury Accommodations blog, this week the author focuses on hotels in various locations, such as: Ascone, Switzerland, Adare, Ireland, Queenstown, New Zealand, Geneva, Switzerland, Singapore, Marrakech, Morocco, and Riviera Maya, Mexico. The author not only focuses on the prime location of each establishment, they also focus on the high-end amenities each hotel has to offer. This week's postings relate to the industry because each establishment listed focuses on key selling aspects for each hotel in each location. These amenities are high selling points for these properties. The blog offers an opportunity to either "like" a posting or comment, and while a majority of viewers "like" each post, there are some comments praising the luxurious nature of each establishment.

The Holiday Inn Traveler:

Although the most recent post on The Holiday Inn Traveler is from February 2012, each post offers a variety of very important information for travelers. The most recent post focuses on the state of the coffee makers within each room. The author praises the four-cup coffee makers, however, disapproves of the single-cup coffee maker, establishing the fact that it is "labor intensive" and "cheap." This posting relates to the hotel industry because it provides important information that properties should know when they are purchasing and providing materials, such as coffee makers, for the rooms in their hotel. The comment on this post emphasizes their distaste for appliances within the hotel room, creating their fear of the possibility of the appliances' unclean states.

Week Three -Michael Noonan

Newark Gets First Hotel In 40 Years

During this weeks blog the author writes about how Newark is getting the first hotel in over forty years. This is big news because travelers that would like to visit the city can spend but can't afford new york city hotel rates can spend the night in Newark which is cheaper and only a short train ride back to NYC. The author goes into depth about how Newark is run down and this hotel will bring much liveliness to the area. This relates to the hotel industry because this is a prime example of how beneficial a hotel is to an area. Newark plans to expand and hopefully put in a nearby run down bank into a new hotel which will be Hotel Indigo. The followers of this blog are very excited for the news. They are especially excited for the cheaper night stays in Newark instead of having to spend the big bills in NYC.

A Walkin' Sort of City

In this blog the author talks about the city of Columbus, Ohio and all the neat features there are located around the city. This is helpful to the five best western hotels located in the metro part of the city that get much business from the wonderful cites. This week's article relates to the industry because when there is much activity to do around an area it brings in consumers that want to stay a long period of days possibly. This is a critical fact for any business or hotel. The more attractions there are to a city the more people come and visit. No followers commented on this blog but I find Columbus, Ohio to be a fascinating place after reading this article. The author did a great job engaging the reader and wanting them to visit the city.

Emily Shand Week 3

The author consistently posts about events going on in the hotel, whether there are holiday events, business conventions, promotional events, ect. The hotel provides a space from these events and in turn receives publicity for the hotel and houses guests that are attending these events. Events and hotels are very closely related and both types of hospitality management can benefit from each other. Followers do not post on this blog, it is more of a way for the hotel to share information with the public.

http://essexresort.wordpress.com/

The posts in this blog are mainly events, however there are some guest experiences, and posts about the staff members. It is a nice feeling to know the members of the staff, who could potentially be serving you, on a more personal level. It gives the hotel a sense of family and makes the guests feel more comfortable. The industry depends a lot of the comfort of its guests and also the events that can bring in a new clientele. One story of a guests experience expresses her enjoyment of the hotel and states that she has returned to the hotel many times.
