The posting I read this week was a post titled “The Wedding
Cake meets the Heat”. The author’s claim
to knowledge was regarding a wedding event and what to do under unruly
circumstances. The target audience is anyone who is interested in doing events,
and or anyone who is interested in hearing a wedding story of what can go
wrong. The author explains the elements of the day: a 97-degree summer day and
the chef was slaving over the grill. After the main course came dessert, and of
course the bride and groom needed to have their perfect cake to cut together as
tradition tells us. Unfortunately, they had chosen possibly one of the worst
choices when it comes to a cake to survive they weather they were in:
buttercream fruit filled cake. The
workers improvised and did they best they could with what they had. Thankfully,
the bride and groom were good sports and were understanding. Chris the blogger says, “Sometimes your best
efforts are not 100% successful, but the show must go on.” What I took from
this article was that were all humans, which means there is always going to be
error, its inevitable but what makes us successful is being able to work with
what hand you are dealt.
The blog I read this week on DoubleTree hotel by Hilton was
regarding the announcement that Hilton Worldwide had signed a franchise
agreement with Municipal Annex Limited. Liverpool, United Kingdom will open its
first DoubleTree by Hilton. Additional locations in Europe that have recently
been opened are in Leeds, Manchester, and London. The writer says that these
properties are joining the “rapidly growing portfolio of upscale, full service
hotels”. This blog is targeted towards travelers are tourist and are interested
in new properties. This also targets people who like the DoubleTree by Hilton
chain and would stay there for that reason solely. This information is relevant
because it is the hotel that I am researching for my project.http://news.doubletree.com/index.cfm/newsroom/category/region/EU
